What is DeepMotion?

AI motion capture that turns video and text into 3D animation in your browser

DeepMotion is an AI-powered 3D animation platform built to make digital human motion accessible to everyone. Instead of expensive motion capture studios, suits and camera rigs, DeepMotion uses deep learning, physics simulation and computer vision to generate production-ready 3D animation from inputs anyone can create: a video clip or a line of text. Everything runs in the cloud through a web browser.

Two core products

  • Animate 3D (Video to 3D Animation): Upload a video recorded on any device (MP4, MOV or AVI) and DeepMotion's markerless AI motion capture tracks full-body movement — including up to 8 people in a single clip — and retargets it onto a 3D character. Advanced options include Face Tracking, Hand Tracking, Physics Simulation, Foot Locking, Hand-to-Ground Contact and Motion Smoothing. The patent-pending Rotoscope Pose Editor lets you trace and correct poses frame-by-frame directly over the source video.
  • SayMotion™ (Text to 3D Animation): A generative AI tool that creates 3D motion from a written prompt. Its Inpainting feature adds to, extends and blends animations, so you can build unique sequences that go beyond stock motion libraries.

Built for real production pipelines

Animations can be applied to DeepMotion's default characters, avatars built with the integrated Ready Player Me and Avaturn creators, or your own uploaded FBX, GLB or VRM models. Results export as FBX, BVH, GLB and MP4 and work with popular tools including Blender, Maya, Unreal Engine, MetaHuman, Unity, iClone and Roblox. For developers, both Animate 3D and SayMotion are available via API, and a lightweight Real-Time SDK brings live body tracking into custom applications.

Trusted by partners and institutions such as Samsung, NVIDIA, Intel, Qualcomm, Epic Games, Bandai Namco and MIT, DeepMotion is a leading choice among 3D animation generator tools for game developers, filmmakers, VR/AR creators, VTubers and educators who need fast, affordable character animation.

Workflow

How to use DeepMotion?

  1. 01

Create a free account at deepmotion.com and choose Animate 3D (video to animation) or SayMotion (text to animation). No credit card is required for the free plan.

  2. 02

Provide your input. In Animate 3D, upload an MP4, MOV or AVI video recorded on any device (follow the capture guidelines for best results). In SayMotion, type a text prompt describing the motion you want.

  3. 03

Choose a character. Use a default character, build an avatar with Ready Player Me or Avaturn, or upload your own FBX, GLB or VRM model — DeepMotion retargets the motion automatically.

  1. 04

Customize settings. Enable options such as Face Tracking, Hand Tracking, Physics Simulation, Foot Locking or Motion Smoothing, or use SayMotion Inpainting to extend and blend clips.

  2. 05

Refine and export. Polish poses frame-by-frame in the Rotoscope Pose Editor, then download your animation as FBX, BVH, GLB or MP4 and import it into Blender, Unreal Engine, Unity, Maya or your engine of choice.

Pricing

Pricing for DeepMotion

Freemium

DeepMotion uses a freemium, credit-based pricing model, with separate plans for Animate 3D (video to 3D) and SayMotion (text to 3D).

  • Free (Freemium): No credit card required and the account does not expire. Create up to 60 seconds of animation per month (60 credits) for personal, non-commercial use.
  • Paid tiers — Starter, Innovator, Professional and Studio: Higher monthly credit allowances (e.g. 180, 480 and 1,500 credits per month on Starter, Innovator and Professional), commercial licensing, higher job priority and advanced features. Annual billing is discounted versus monthly.
  • Studio: Unlimited credits — the first 7,200 credits each month are processed at the highest job priority, with the remainder at low priority.
  • API & Real-Time SDK: Custom pricing for high-volume and enterprise use; contact DeepMotion sales.

On Animate 3D, 1 credit = 1 second of animation or one 3D pose; face and hand tracking each add 0.5 credit per second. Credits reset monthly and do not carry over. Users can also earn credits back through the Free Animation Credit Program by labeling and correcting animations. Prices change periodically — see the official DeepMotion pricing page for current rates.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. No credit card is required and the account does not expire. You can create up to 60 seconds of animation every month. Freemium accounts are available for personal, non-commercial use.

MP4, MOV and AVI input videos are supported. Animations can be exported in FBX, BVH, MP4 and GLB formats (GLB is only available for custom characters).

Animation Credits give you access to the AI animation service. 1 credit equals 1 second of animation or one 3D pose. Face tracking and hand tracking each cost an extra 0.5 credit per second of animation or per 3D pose.

You can animate either your own custom characters or a default set of characters provided by the service. You can create new characters from scratch through the built-in avatar creators, or upload your own FBX or GLB models.

For both monthly and annual plans, credits do not carry over and reset at the end of each month. Your account is then refilled with the monthly amount included in your plan. For high-volume usage, DeepMotion offers API plans.

The Studio plan offers unlimited credits for unlimited animation creation. The first 7,200 credits in each subscription month are processed with the highest job priority; after that, remaining jobs are processed at low job priority.

No. Your uploads are private to you and cannot be accessed publicly or by other Animate 3D users.

Yes. You can cancel at any time from your Animate 3D account profile menu. No further invoices are billed after cancellation, and your subscription stays active until the last day of your billing cycle.

No. Licensing is determined by your plan type, not by whether you used free or subscription credits. To have licensed animation for commercial use, you need a premium subscription plan.
